Instructor Sue Sloat

Professional instruction for over 35 years emphasizing the fundamentals of riding. Great care to develop balanced seat, quiet legs, good posture with flexibility of upper body, and finally smart, quick , easily adaptable hands. "Great hands demand a great seat first". Advanced riders spend much time developing and enhancing their balance and leg strength skills. "Riding skills demand strong legs." With strength comes balance, then upper body and hands.

Young riders are not allowed to pull or hold the shool horses by their mouths. Riding is a skill to enjoy for a lifetime. Learning to ride enables you to ride much nicer horses for the rest of your life.

School horses must be well trained, calm, and patient. They must be fit and sound as many of them work several hours a day. Students learn to groom their horses and take care of tack (saddles and bridles) and other equipment.
